Thermador Pro Range – Control Panel/ECM Board Failed TWICE in 2 Years – Seeking repair reimbursement

Hello Houzz community,
I’m hoping someone here (or perhaps a Thermador representative who monitors these threads) can offer guidance.

We purchased a Thermador 30” Pro range in December 2013.
Model: PRD304GHU
Serial: 15-FD931100066

On 6/23/23 A technician diagnosed a failed main control board (ECM). We paid $388 for the part to be replaced. The identical symptoms returned approx 2 years later. Today the technician confirmed the same control board had failed again. The part is being ordered.

We love the look and performance of the range when it works, but two control board failures in approximately two years is clearly not normal, and many owners on Houzz, Reddit, and Consumer Affairs report the exact same recurring issue with this part across multiple Thermador models.

We have always maintained the appliance properly and kept all service records. At this point we are very concerned about future reliability and the significant cost we’ve already incurred.

I’m respectfully requesting that Thermador/BSH provide goodwill assistance in the form of:
• Full or partial reimbursement for the second repair, or
• An extended warranty that specifically covers the control board for a reasonable period (many owners have been granted 5–10 years on this known issue)
We would greatly appreciate escalation to the Executive Resolution Team or any factory assistance that can be offered.

Thank you in advance for any help or advice the community (or Thermador) can provide.
