Sounds like my condo...I went a bit crazy and did dark floors, wider planks though and crazy bright colours (yellow, teal and orange). I love it, but not for everyone. I must say though that the type of yellow I chose looks great in the afternoon when the sun shines in (mine is also West facing). Everyone told me to stay away from dark floors because of the maintenance of it (dust shows sooooo quickly) and everyone told me to stay away from bright dark colours. I did the opposite and i love it. Let us know what you decide! Good luck :)
