Help with living room

We finally had our couch and love seat out. Since we moved to our new house, we knew we'll be needing new furniture. An L-shaped couch will be delivered soon. Need help on placement with the other furniture that's left. Also need advice for living room decor which also includes artwork. Thanks!

I think it might be smart to post this question once you have received your couch so we can see what you have to work with and how that best can be arranged.

Agree with above, post other pictures when you receive you L-shape sofa. A floor plan showing all dimensions including doors & windows would also help for a furniture layout. We also need dimensions of L-shape sofa and show the other furniture you plan to keep (not an aerial view like the one you posted).

Thank you very much for those suggestions! I'll follow up on this post soon. The couch is coming in 2 days.

Make a corner FP as focal point and place seating furniture facing it.

once the section arrives, place it facing the fireplace and take photos of all four walls at floor level.

Will you be addressing the window treatments? It's a very tall room, the drapery panels should be from top to floor rod at the ceiling, extended beyond the window trim

Does the kitchen open to this room? How about a larger area rug?

Sectionals coming tomorrow. No drapery panels for now. Just drapery at the sliding door to the patio.

I know it needs editing. Is there a way I can keep the 2 chairs somewhere? Need advise. Right now it's cluttered.

Couch is 9.5 feet each side

The sofa looks very comfortable. It seems a bit close to the fireplace. I like the carpet. Can you post another overhead photo with the new sofa? I would like to see the sofa in the layout of the floor plan then the two chairs could be arranged in the porch corner to see the TV. It could also be squared off with its back to the island as shown in one photo above by Celery titled Some Inspiration.

I would have matching window treatments for the slider and the windows to unify them. I'd like to see photos of the top windows or are you leaving them bare? We have drapes for our sliders but 90% roller blinds for the uppers for light control.

Thank you for the photo. Can you rotate the sofa and show a photo with one back parallel to the slider and one back parallel to the kitchen island? I believe it would open up the room to both conversation and tv watching.

I don’t think the sectional needs to be head on to the fireplac. I like the idea of one side being parallel to the slider

I would try pulling the sectional 2 feet further back from the fireplace, and then one of the chairs could go in front of the Christmas tree. Leave the one chair in the corner with the reading lamp.

I would try a furniture layout like this with a sofa table with lamps behind the sectional with poufs under the table for extra seating when needed. I also suggest a larger ottoman or coffee table than what you presently have. The window on the side is too close to the fireplace for curtains but a roman shade would look nice.

The floor plan is to scale.
