First figure out the shoe storage. Yes, kids are home now. They will be home again. Shoes will be there again.

The window looks pretty with out any dressing. I'd hang two small pieces of art vertically to the left of the window. Get whatever rug makes you happy.

Give us some help here. The picture you posted - is it taken while standing in the front door opening, looking in? The layout seems odd with a closet (?) at your right elbow and a full-length window ahead but not centered on the front door.

Sometimes perspective is everything.
