Get another smaller shelf? What is the black square? A pass through? Why?

Honestly, the whole composition could have been better, and the top shelf seems too high.

The medallion, the table runner, the fringed rug....all a bit out of sync with the look of a floating shelf gallery.

What are you going for, where is this in your home, what is around it? What is width of wall, height of wall........

    ?

I will add, I WISH you had asked before you executed? : ) sorry, I know that is an answer you';d rather not hear, and not exactly what you asked..

Waht space is this ? The shelves IMO are the wrong choice if that is a DR so adding another one would be ahard NO for me. I do not love "gallery" type decor for pictures or art . You seem to even have empty frmaes in this mix . You have agreat hallway right next to this space I would remove the shelves , get the same size frames for all the pics and hang them in the hallway then a nice buffet with one large piece of art above it and work on a nice DR space . I have no idea what the black hole is for but it needs to go. You have nice DR set make this a nice space to enjoy

I do not see an empty last space on the new shelves. The black sq I assume is a hole of some sort? The white shelf under it, my guess is, predates all the rest of the shelves? Why wasn't the bottom shelf lined up to this white one?

OP is referring to the open wall to the right of the pass through.

If you can't get a shelf to fit that space, I would remove the one on the left. What was the reason for all the shelves? Is the plan for it to be all photos? The top shelf is kind of high for that.

You can lower the bottom shelf to the level of the cornice under the black square so that they are in line at the bottom.

Then move the largest photo frames to the bottom shelf, and place the smallest ones on the top shelf.

To the right of the black square you can hang an art piece slightly larger than the square.

I can't see the rest of the space, but I have an obsessive desire to wallpaper this wall with a print or paint it a dark color.

I assume that ”hole” is perhaps from the kitchen? If so, , I would have it removed along with those shelves, wrong place, hung at wrong height. You need to provide more information.

I think Beverly is right about the height. I do wonder if you could add a fourth shelf and deal with it that way though?

Thank you all so much! the black hole is a pass through to the kitchen. my cabinets and sink are on the other side so it has to stay since a demo isnt an option. my wall is actuslly uneven and we didnt realize it until the shelfs were hung. so trying to work with the wall. were hoping to remove the last shelf for sure. the empty frames were placed to give us an idea of size of frames/colors etc before printing photos. this is a small space and really wanted family photos in frames on this wall. we have another gallery wall so didnt want to repeat that.

Also, bec because of the pass through getting shelfs to fit the space without going custom is impossible. the two high shelfs wete to go above the pass through.

In order to fit some 11 x14 and start above the cutout the two shelfs were high.

It's still a gallery and PERHAPS this wasn't the wall to do it. ? If you take the top shelf of, locate at bottom? You will not need to "fill space.", other than a taller framed something at the end.

Everyone is very politely attempting to tell you, it just doesn't look great as is. :)

Trying to make the best with what you have...

Add a shelf in the empty space.

Turn the chairs around the table clockwise.

Find a larger in diameter pendant.

Remove the runner and place a centre piece on the table.

Turn on the light behind the black hole.

Place a plant or two in the corner.

Perhaps your picture is dark but your round natural fibre rug doesn't stand out on the colour of your floor (I'm showing it brighter).

    Remove the medallion.

I read that you took the 3rd shelf down. If you have room, you can also

place a narrow buffet on the back wall.

No space for a console, huh?
