Need help with countertop and fixtures

Hi,

We are in the designing process of our new home. The cabinets are in off white color and we chose the Cotton white granite for the countertop (we want to stick with granite, hubby doesnt like quartz). Is the granite too outdated ? should we think about other options?

We chose the satin nickel for the fixtures but debating about changing it to matte black.

The flooring in the far bottom in first pic is what we chose, but might be changing that to the one in pic 2.

Need some opinions on the look please. Finding it hard to visualize how all of these changes would look and not make the cabinets look too yellow.

The cabinet color has to stay. Thanks!

    Hi Raihana!

I’d recommend adding a bit of contrast to the design 😊 If the cabinets are off-white and the countertops are white-based, it really helps to bring in a different tone, even something as simple as cabinet hardware in a non-white finish.

You could also consider a backsplash with a different tile color to add some depth and personality to the space.

I like the idea of black hardware, but you don’t have to make this decision right now. Wait until your cabinets are installed and you can drill for the hardware and sample them out in real life. If it’s too much contrast for the space you’ll see that instantly and choose a different finish. You can take some time making this choice.

I love the look of matt black but from experience and having a bit harder water in my well that the black is terrible to keep good looking so I have switched out to satin nickel and love that finish as it is understated.

I had these faucets in my last home , loved them but dis stainless oulls and othe hardware since I find black hardware too hugh contrast on a white cabinet. I live this faucet it is fro Krauss pretty easy to keep clean and I ran a catering biz there so got lots of use. I think it would be agreat choice with the granite and BTW good choice for the counter .Where are you planning the pebble tile it is not good with the othwr stuff you show so just asking

@Above And Beyond Builders thank you, any suggestions on the backsplash color ?

Also anything to think about the granite should we look at different ones ? I dont want the cabinets to look too yellow. For flooring we have a different one in the photo (Weathered brown by shaw floors) but thinking of switching to charred earth. My husband doesnt like too light floorings but I am worried if going dark would make the cabinets look more yellow with the countertops.

This is the flooring we are thinking about changing to(charted earth)

we chose this one below (in my original pic), liked it when we looked at the small sample but i dont like how it looks at a broader view

@eam44 I was thinking the same to decide on hardware later, but the builder provides the hardware with the upgrade we took for the full overlay cabinets. Since it is included we want to make use of it.

@Lorraine Leroux thank you, will keep this in mind for making a decision.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting thank you for your response. We are not taking the pebble, it was in the display behind the options we picked (edited the photo). We havent decided on the backsplash yet.

In that case I’d go for the satin nickel that you’ve chosen already. Good luck!

    Satin nickel will work well.

Make sure you have a say in the location of the hardware. Some of the trades have odd ideas about where to install things, so don't assume they will do it the way that you like.

Lots of threads on the Kitchen forum talking about hardware positioning on cabinet doors/drawers. There isn't just one way, so make sure you look at your options and then tell your builder, in writing, what you expect.
