It looks like there is a return on the stair side wall so there is probably ductwork under there too. You may be able to take the return cover off to see what's under there. Buy one of the camera snake devices if you can feed it around the ductwork.

Doesn't seem like the space below the stairs is tall enough to stand in. Your rendering is not factual in size. There's likely to be at least 2 x 6 supports under the stairs. What good is a pantry that's only 70" in clearance? Additionally there's a cold air return under the stairs that can likely not be relocated.

If we had a floor plan to view we might be able to secure space for the pantry.

Is there room in the kitchen for a freestanding cabinet? Can you post of photo of the area near where you’ll be baking? And yes, no basements in TN.

You need to see how much space is available under the stairs with an onsite inspection. The right side of that stairway might be ~6’ tall. Perhaps you can fit shallow shelves on the kutchrn side with a cabinet door that opens into the kitchen.

RedRyder, here is the kitchen space. In the open area beyond the kitchen I will be adding my buffet and dining table.

Do you have a photo taken with your back to the island of the stairway wall side in the kitchen?

You could do a nice true pullout pantry if you went range instead of wall oven but could you get away with a ranage with 2 ovens ?

I just spoke with the builder about this space. It is just open space. The return will slant up and take some of the space up. As for how much space or what you can do is just a guess on our part. We finish those spaces all the time but they are all a little different.

Seems like you could add plenty of pantry cabinets.

Your i sge of what might fit under the stairs does not appear accurate. The pantry wall Beverly shows offers much more storage and easier access.

I love the pantry wall but my dining table and buffet will go in that space.

I think the dining table will still fit, could you find another spot for the sideboard?
