My Pretty Lady Rose was a workhorse, blooming machine, and was 4 out of 5 stars for fragrance! Black spot was its weakness here. What a great rose for a dry climate, though. Strong-necked unlike one of its parents, weak-necked Grande Dame, which I also had. Also a black spotter. GD is not missed, but Pretty Lady Rose still brings back great memories.

As Sheila advises, so do. I add, let your Pretty Lady Rose get as big as you have room for it.

Thanks, Moses! Pretty Lady Rose is probably my favorite rose right now in my climate. As you noted, she's a super fragrant blooming machine, and I just love the color of those big ruffly blooms. I appreciate your advice!

It's a sleeper, for sure. One thing that puzzles me are the repeated reports of Pretty Lady Rose's fantastic scent.....yet the powers that be don't seem to have taken a second look at this important detail and give PLR's rich fragrance an acknowledgment.
