Start with some new bedding you love that is almost always where I start in a bedroom.. You need mucj better lamps taller for sure and bit bigger base . One on each night table .Some nice art on the wall beside the bed. I rarely like art above a headborad but depending on the bedding maybe a different wall color at least behind the bed

I would keep the colors neutral, the green of the headboard with green patterned bedding...

the neutral walls are great, paint the furniture the same neutral color as the walls so not a lot of contrast for a calm feel. Leave the blanket chest as is, a great accent piece.

Yes, taller lamps. no need for art over bed, but you could put a framed piece above each night stand, behind the lamp. Put the plant in a larger basket, and closer to the window (to mimic need for light, even for a faux plant)

I'd hang a composition of woven discs of varying sizes and textures (rattan, straw, dried flowers) above the bed. Then you could add textured pillows and/or a throw—they really need some texture. The curtains are too narrow when gathered—it's worth adding another similar panel on each side, perhaps even in a slightly darker shade.
Or replace the curtains with wider.
I also recommend finding a different location for the mirror. And you could replace the lamp on the nightstands. I'd leave the dresser alone.

I agree new lamps and something on wall beside bed. We still don’t have our bed wall done because like you I can’t figure out how to finish. I don’t really want something above bed but also don’t like it empty. I have seen some images where there are tall pieces of art over bedside tables or mirrors and I have liked that.

I think you need a bit of pattern and color. The room reads a little chilly to me right now so maybe a few accessories and artwork with warmer colors. Definitely larger lamps and I also like the idea of hanging something over the bed that will provide some texture and visual interest. What is your budget for the changes you'd like to make?

Thanks for all the feedback. I was hoping to spend under $600 to complete the room.

I can add another set of drapes to make it fuller but my husband doesn't want anything blocking the window when the drapes are open so I left it sparse.
I like this color for a duvet, do you think it will work with my headboard and euro shams?

To my eyes, the dark blue duvet cover is too dark; I'd keep things light.

Maybe move the mirror as shown (it's crowding the drapes where it is), then switch the plant and the dresser?

I would keep the white muslin since they are so comfortable and cozy but add a pretty, colorful blanket and new throws for color. I agree with taller lamps and artwork you love. Your walls are just so bare right now.

Sounds like you'd like to head in a beachy direction. I think the duvet and artwork you're looking at can definitely get you there but I think you need to add a bit of texture and pattern to the room as well. Think about a pretty throw across the bottom of the bed and some textured accessories. Is there another spot you could put your mirror so it doesn't crowd the curtains, like behind a bathroom door? I think you would be okay with not adding more panels but maybe look online for a tutorial on how to train your curtains so they hang nicely.

You said the photo of the birds makes you happy. Then get it! Maybe the abstract for over your dresser. You want to "imply" the beach look rather than making it feel too "themey".

I’d work with your headboard‘s color and chose complementary shades when choose any bedding and art.

This may help regarding art size/placement and lamps.

To decide on accessories, maybe search on line, as examples of whole rooms’ decor might be helpful.
