Are the columns wood or what material? Those typically are a fiberglass material that do not stain well.

Painted, as long as they are a material which can be painted well.

The natural wood sample seems too random to me. They match nothing. Unless, of course, you add other similar features (jute rug, cedar furniture, etc.).

Really? I would get composite firberglass columns and paint them. However it happen if they need to be cedar so be but paint them then. Not stained.

Painted. Keep it simple, the house has enough going on with the gables and odd dormers.

I hope there is actual living space behind those dormers and gable windows ... nothing worse than seeing the roof trusses, through the windows of decorative dormers, when you drive by a house!
