Looks too high to me

I think you can get by with it because of the shape.

Boost up the plant at the window with a taller planter.

The lantern's scale is too big for this area with the furnishings IMO.

It appears to be too high but probably notfixable. The table is off center so what happens when you move the table . I do not like rugs under dining tables but then I also dislike wall sconces so thats me .The giant candle holder has no place in the space and the plants I would put on stands in front of the window if there is space . . I also do not like mirrors in DRS and why vertical on a wide buffet that seems not centered on the table either .

It looks like the wall on the left is way too heavy with furniture, plant, sconces, etc. I can see a plan formulating here, but suggest the (taller) plant move to the other corner window. The buffet is crowding the room so move buffet or chandelier so the table can be centered under the chandelier and have ample room for chairs pulled out and people moving around. I’m with Patricia - no rugs under tables. Art instead of mirror. I do like your linear chandelier and agree the lower height does not work for our tall family and friends, except me.

The height isn't the problem for me. The problem is that the length/bulk of the fixture can't really be seen when standing outside of the room, so you barely see the chandelier and it ends up looking insignificant above the table.

I don't think so. Agree with above that the room is unbalanced.

Thanks for the comments! Yes. room is totally unbalanced, I know. Things will be moved to make sideboard side of room feel lighter. We only moved in 6 months ago, so trying to design/decorate each space as time allows.

the buffet is only 72” long and is centered on the wall and with the table, maybe the angle of the pic is showing otherwise.

i think the rug makes the room feel brighter. Our floor tile color made the table and chairs blend into the floor, so I believe the rug helps to separate.

I love sconces and mirrors in dining rooms, but thanks for the input 🙂-it’s always interesting to hear what others think.

I was mainly asking advice about the height of the chandelier.🙏🏼

I think the sideboard could be moved to in front of the window or to the other side of the room . It would balance the room and leave a "hallway" to the door.

That’s not a door, it’s a window. The Shutter for it was the wrong size, we are waiting for a new one to be installed.

Are the bulbs in the chandelier and wall sconces the same kelvin? The wall sconce lighting color appears much yellower than the chandelier lighting color.
