Hiding Doorbell Chime in Foyer

I will be painting my walls soon and I have a wall in my foyer that has all of the mechanical eyesores on one wall as you can see in the photo I have shared below. I plan to make a small gallery wall in the top moulding box similar to the other photo below. I will be adding a round vintage frame around my Nest thermostat and the fan switch above the thermostat will be covered by a frame. The issue I am having is how to cover my doorbell chime. They sell covers on Amazon that have ornate designs but I already made the return air vent cover at the bottom of the photo and I don't want to have my wall look too busy. Do you have any suggestions on how I can hide it within a gallery wall? It is 7"w x 5"t x 2"d so it really protrudes out from the wall. I could cover it with a 2" deep box and add a print to the front and add moulding on it to make it fancier but the box will stick out more than the frames surrounding it.

I needed to cover a spot on my wall and I used a tapestry. It really worked out great- because I absolutely love the tapestry. It has turned out to be the perfect art for me... as well as for that wall. It is a Van Gogh floral image. Stunning. It is framed by wall molding similar to yours but over a larger area and my walls are a yellow gold color. It’s a very large piece, perfect size/dimensions for what I needed. I got the tapestry from an Amazon Seller. Easy, quite inexpensive, and surprisingly good quality.

Amazon has many such options. Etsy is another resource.

With the thermostat situation, a tapestry may not work- unless you do a cut-out for it. It needs sufficient air flow.

@freedomplace1 thank you! I would love to use a tapestry but I don't know if I would want to cut a hole in it to allow airflow for the thermostat. Thank you for you suggestion.

Yes, I understand. I definitely would not want to put a hole in mine! Plus, with that thermostat situation, you would need the right piece to pull it off. But if you found a tapestry or piece of fabric that is not out of the question to alter- it could possibly give you a nice presentation in the entry foyer; and it would also be easier than hanging all the frames, etc.

ETA: Other than that, I think your gallery wall idea is nice and well thought out. I really don’t think it would matter if the chime frame sticks out more than the others.
