Small boys/guest bath remodel after fire

Remodeling our entire house after a house fire and struggling with decision fatigue and makong the house cohesive/peaceful for our return.
Trying to come up with a timeless and a bit more masculine bathroom design for my 2 young boys/guest small bathroom. Thinking black and brass fixtures meets wood mirror? I really liked the idea of black and white checkerboard porcelain tile laid in diamond pattern for the floor, but I'm afraid that it will feel busy in that small of a space, and it will limit further design changes in the future if that makes sense? Other option is to run the Cortec Cairo Oak LVP into the bathroom?
Our cabinets are custom made to paint (no wood vanity option here), but literally any color goes....which is an exhausting thought. I like the idea of a dusty blue, green, or black vanity depending on the floor 🙃
I'm thinking 3x12 artesian frost white subway tile that has a bit movement for the shower, it's a drop in tub so no shower pan. Really just need flooring tile, vanity color help and paint help!

I just noticed that you never received any help.

I like the black/white floors (if that style works with the rest of your home). You can change up colors in the future with that floor.

HOWEVER, I would not use that floor with the shower tile in the photo you've posted. First, the photo looks like Bedrosian Cloe White tile 2.5 x 8 - I have the same exact tile in a guest bathroom (tub/shower combo surround). The tile is a V4 variation = the highest variation that a tile can be rated.

I used a charcoal slate tile (genuine slate from Brazil = very durable). It's honed and gauged so it appears to be pretty uniform in color + have a flat face. The tile was installed before I had decided to redo the tub surround (it had 4x4 white tile that looked fine). However, once I replaced the vanity/toilet/floor - I decided to have the surround redone.

Anyway - I like the tile. However, it is busy. A black and white checkered/diamond floor is also busy.

I like the sage green color with either the floor or the surround - so, if you like it, I think it will look nice.
