When we remodeled our kitchens (we've done it twice), the cabinet maker made a stain board for us, that we could look at in our own house, with our lighting, next to our other woodwork. If it wasn't exactly right, they would mix up a new color and try again.

At the very least, I suggest bringing home a sample door. Photos on a phone or computer are not going to be representative, since screens show color differently, and the lighting will not likely be exactly like yours.

Everything what @AnnKH said…plus, the lighting from home to home differs…so, the cabinets are bound to look different in, say, my home than it will in yours.
