Walmart's Illegal Faucets

StarCraft Reviews has just posted the results of a three month investigation into illegal faucets sold by Walmart, primarily through its online marketplace, walmart.com.

The report can be read at Walmart's Illegal Faucets.

The investigation found that over 80% of the faucet brands for sale on Walmart violate state and federal laws and regulations, may contain hazardous materials such as metallic lead, a known neurotoxin, and harbor dangerous pathogens. They are completely illegal to sell or install in a drinking water system in the U.S. or Canada.

I urge everyone not to buy or install a faucet that has not been certified legal for use in the U.S. They may, and probably do, contain dangerous amounts of metallic lead, a known neurotoxin, and possibly other unwanted contaminants like mercury, cadmium, and arsenic.

StarCraft published a similar investigative report on illegal faucets sold on Amazon.com a few months ago, and while Amazon is still the king of illegal faucet sales, Walmart is a close second.

The next target is Home Depot and Lowe's stores.
