Floating front porch? or concrete slab?

I was thinking of building a floating front porch- more commonly, a floating deck. I don’t plan to, or want to, attach it to my house, maybe leave a small space and overhang wood to mask the gap(?) We’d build it on deck blocks.

Or we were thinking of getting a concrete slab poured, then dress it up with some brick veneer or do stamped concrete.

I was thinking that the porch may look better, and may cost less?
I am worried about the floating deck sinking into the ground?

You have an existing roof overhang that defines the area below it. That dimension (maybe 3' overhang?) is too small for a usable porch, other than the bench you had in front of the window. So at that point, you would decide if you desire a larger "open-air" patio (whether wood, concrete, pavers, or more stone) that is located in the front yard, and how that may/may not tie into the sidewalk and pathway to the house.

But it appears you have about a single 8" step up into the house, so that is not an optimal situation for a wood deck.

If we were to build it I’d want it to be just about the same width as the existing area I’d include the area in the front door as well as the incline into the porch by tearing up the concrete that’s there right now.
