help with final touches

Have a couple new palms in, I want to put some plants at the base. North facing, will have late day April-summer sun. Usually 4pm on. Looking for flowering species for pollinator drawing, hummingbird, bird and ideally also dwarf type or less than 3ft so that my summer isn’t spent pruning excessive growth.

Couple pictures, showing the full range from one palm to the other, then each palm. The one with the bags would need multiple specimens, so should it be alternating of two

kind? One kind and five?

Also open to non-shrub, flowering perennials.

If you have a local independent nursery or a native plant nursery nearby, you will find a nice selection of plants that will thrive in your garden.

For six plants in a circle the pattern would be

pink-pink- pink- white- pink- white.

or

pink-pink-red-white-pink-white.

Ouch!! I research so much I suffer from analysis paralysis, but I still come here for suggestions, thoughts, and real-life experience with plants. Isn't that what a discussion forum is for?

alwayscold (lol that could be MY name too!) I can't help you though because I am in a completely different zone. My only thoughts would be that I thinkkkkk I might stick with one kind of plant and one color on both trees, just to tie things in. If you do go with different colors, I would make each tree the same pattern/color combo.

P.S. Just realized I'm thinking "annuals". If you want perennials, I think I would go with some ground-hugging low-growing plant. Would perennials interfere more with the roots of the palm than annuals would?
