Help coordinating window treatments!

Started with a bamboo shade in the kitchen, would love to have different but complimentary treatments behind the dining table and again different option for the family room. Stuck and open to suggestions. Not sure I want bamboo on the other windows was thinking a fabric Roman shade but can’t figure it all out! Help!

Bamboo shades and drapery panels would be very nice for your rooms.

I'd paint out that wood mantle on your fireplace. That assemblage looks pretty weak.

I'd do the same bamboo shade on the window at the head of the table as is above the kitchen sink. They are both on the same wall and it makes sense they would be the same shade.

Then I'd do a relaxed roman on your other windows. You have a French / modern farmhouse vibe going. Something simple, not too layered, not too heavy makes sense to me with your shiplap vibe.

I too am curious what is going on with your mantle. It really seems like the odd item out in your room, a bit too grand and out of proportion.

I dislike bamboo blinds always so if coordinate is the plan now you need them everywhere . They look cheap , block your view and for sure do not work in what I assume is your LR . BTW the TV makes no sense there at all. Waht do you NEED from window coverings first. Then decide how to get what you need .

I would install outside mounted roman shades above all your windows, to camouflage the fact that all your windows are a bit too short/squat for the wall height available.

Piggybacking on Beverly’s comment on the mantel - I’d for sure paint out the supports for the mantel as they look quite odd.

Pull the tv down onto the mantel. It’s so high that it is taller than your windows! (I’ll never understand why home tvs are mounted at barroom height. How’s your neck?) Which brings me to chispa’s comment about your short windows. Outside, higher-mounted Roman shades would be great, in a similar color/texture to the window treatment over your sink.

Outside mounted shades to fool the eye into thinking that the windows are taller.

Thanks for the suggestions. What about an Inside mounted shade and drapery panels or is there not enough room to do that for n either side of the fireplace? or

    Yes to suggestions given.
Outside romans mounted higher than the windows will look nice.
Your fireplace area is rather unsettling and flimsy looking.
It looks like someone has levitated half a table and glued it to the wall.
Please heed the advice offered regarding this .
Lower the tv,and consider removing the "floating" wood piece.
    Do show us your update.

Oh thanks for clarifying on the mantle I couldn’t figure out wth everyone was talking about but nothing is floating? Do t mantle have support beams to them??

Close up on the complicated mantle assembly. The scale on the elements is all wrong. See example of other mantles posted below. Depending on the hardware you use, the supports can be hidden or use exposed brackets.

that mantle has to go. sorry. it just does not go w/the otherwise nice looking room and kitchen.

Here's a photoshop of a reclaimed wood beam.

(go to a lumberyard and pick out a 4x6 or 6x6 wood beam and have it cut to length. stain it. or beat it up to give it a worn look and then stain it. install using lag bolts into the studs.

Also, the tv is too high. lower that as well.

as for the windows, I like a nice woven wood blind.

Thank you. I chose that mantle design guess now I know why I’m not a designer! Lol
