Please help with decor

I really want to put long linen curtains on the ends of these two windows. I don’t want curtains in the middle bc we go in and out from that area often. My question is, can I put an extra long curtain rod across both windows and then hang the curtains on the ends? Any other ideas? Not trying to cover the windows at all, just want to soften and add texture to the space. Thank you!

Consider just installing drapery panels on the window and leave the sliding doors without drapery panels.

I like your idea but then the right side of window panel would be in the area we constantly walk through. We had panels there before and they got caught in the sliding glass door.

Look at the curtains on the left side of photo. What you want is a curtain panel on the left side of your windows and another on the right side of the doors. Do not put a rod across all the glass. It will be a line on your wall. Install rods just on the sides so they hold the panels that wont be opening and closing.
