I think pillows on the chairs that connect a bit more with the rug color would be good. The table is fine. An understated Diva is still a Diva. ;)

I would suggest leaving the table top pretty clear- instead of displaying the mirror tray, etc.; imo, if you want to showcase the table, less is really more in this case.

For me, the gray chairs are clashing with the rug and making everything look a little sad. Maybe a rug with actual color could make the warm table and cool chairs each pop against the color. Blue or green would work well with both the gray and the brown marble.

I think it's necessary to bring in the color of the chairs into the rug.

As I mentioned at top of thread: I would just swap the chair pillows for pillows that tie in with the new rug.

I agree that those other rugs very much distract from the table- which was your main concern with the rug your friend selected. I think the table is fine with the rug your friend selected. The latest rug is going in a better direction, as far as style, I think. But to be honest, I do not think that this one works with your marble. The marble will get lost.

Listen to your friend. The rug they selected is good. It is stylish. It sort of has a subtle animal print type pattern. I like it.

And it works fine with the floor.

There are a gazillion rugs in the world... So, it’s ultimately about what ‘you‘ like and want to see in your space. But if you wanted someone to select a rug for you- your friend did a good job. I could also select some nice rugs for you... but you already have one.

Love the club chairs and their contrasting curves with your linear sofa! You have scale of pattern, color contrast, and shape/type of pattern issue. Your marble is more like small dots so a larger linear carpet like the one's Bev suggest would work better. Contrasting, brigher, maybe bolder colors?

Can't see enough of the space to know, but could the furniture be rearranged to put the coffee table in a usable position? Right now, it looks like no one could reach it from any seating, only from the ottoman. Could something like this work?
