I did say after the last quilt that my next one would be super simple.

I found this free pattern on Pinterest , couldn’t be easier, squares and strips. Famous last words!


I am having problems with cropping so I apologize for the image.

I printed out the instructions and then did a double take. Cracker blocks start with the strip piece, then HSTs are added to each side. So all those solid looking blocks are actually four HSTs coming together. Nope! not doing that! and the edges are all bias. didn’t I just do that!

So I spent a little time and came up with a solution using solid darks and lights for the squares and the strip block.

And no bias edges. It was still set on point as the last one was but it was a bit easier to lay out.

And here it is. I have used this fabric before at least three times and I still have enough for at least ten tops. But I love it.
