Looked at your idea books. Seems the look you like is close to what @BeverlyFLADeziner posted but with some color. blue shows up some.

It's hard to get usable advice for your situation without starting with inspiration pictures of things you like at the highest level, then drilling down to the specifics such as: drawings and dimensions of the new house, what the outside views are or as simple as starting with a specific room and defining how the room will be used and by how many people with inspo pics of rooms like that.

I think modern means different things to different people many do not make a difference between MCM and contemporary. I see very little MCM in the idea books . I think the OP needs to come back with some pics of things they like and mean when they say modern. I would not call the LR pic with the blue contrived accents modern either , We need info please.
