Medicine cabinets are great for storing items you use everyday. Mine don't have lights , but they have power inside and that is where I keep and charge my electric toothbrush. The ones I used in my master bathroom are from Robern 24" W x 48" H.

For a 72-inch double vanity, both options can work, but they solve different problems.

If you mainly want a cleaner visual and stronger task lighting, one large lighted mirror can feel more open and less busy. If you need practical daily storage for skincare, medicine and small items, two recessed medicine cabinets usually add more long-term value because they reduce countertop clutter without making the room feel crowded.

From a manufacturing and QC perspective, I would compare a few details before choosing: mirror door alignment, hinge quality, replaceable LED driver, anti-fog coverage area, CRI, color temperature, and whether the cabinet depth works with what you actually store. For most primary baths, 3000K to 4000K and CRI 90+ tends to be the safest range.

If you are still deciding, I would mock up both options in painter's tape first. That usually makes the storage tradeoff very obvious.
