Unlacaqured will be splotchy, with fingerprints, bright areas, dark areas, and all in between. If you want to even that out, that requires brasso and elbow grease. But then it will go right back to being variegated, because it's a living finish.

Unlacquered Brass is gorgeous and has natural anti bacterial properties to it. That said you MUST be okay with the patina of it tarnishing. It will. It can be cleaned with brass cleaner to bring it up to its original shine but really the beauty of it is the patina. Much like marble counter tops. Gorgeous but can you live with the patina, the etching and staining? Some people adore it and others like a pristine look. Only you can decide that.

IMO nothing looks like unlaquered brass but unlacquered brass. That rejuvenation does a really nice job with their hardware finished in comparison to others. My advice if you have a store near you go in and look. If you don't order a couple of each finish and view them in your space.
