A mid-tone gray from the stone....and because your siding is very light. Not too much variation in the roof with the variation in the stonework.

A Charcoal gray for shutters and front door trim will bring out whatever gray is in the rock.

I would go with a mid color from your stone. Its hard to tell from your picture, just what colors are in that stone. From what shows up on my monitor, it looks like tans and browns. If thats the case, I would pick a brown from the stone, for the roof.

Yes, Black is too harsh, think pigeon poop stains.

Max Def Prairie wood. So it looks like a wood shingle.

BM Stone Hearth or BM Pashmina for the shutters and trim

would georgetown gray not have enough warmth in it? what about colonial slate, weathered wood, driftwood or heather blend?

The stone appears more brown/tan than gray. Is that right? If so, I’d go with shingles that are more brown, but stay away from anything that leans red/orange. Due to the stone, consider shingles that aren’t too variegated to avoid a busy look. As I recall, I think Driftwood and Weathered Wood are pretty popular. Agree black would be too harsh.

We’re going through this right now, too. Our roof shingles are gray tile which is what we want to stay with. Not easy!

Embrace the browns.

Make sure there isnt too much color variation in the shingles, because, it will give your house a busy look, which you dont want. If that stone is actually all the tans, etc like it appears to have, then a brown roof, would be what would look the nicest.

We chose Max Def Weathered Wood when we built out house.

We used CertainTeed colonial slate on our house that will have a medium brown brick. I would probably go with driftwood or weather wood on your house.

@Lyn Nielson, I got a laugh out of your comment. I live near the ocean and black roofs are the worst. We get seagull poop and broken shells from the clams. Bird thinks the roof is hot top, so drop the clams to break them open. What a mess!

The single windows can take shutters, but not the double windows.
