Can you give us a drawn floorplan of the space with measuremetns of all walls? For starters the scale of the items you have on that wall is too small. But you say nothing is staying? The sectional? The cocktail ottoman? The carpeting? What is the space off to the left? When you say the entrance to the garage is behind the wall? Where do the french doors lead? Photos of the entire space from all directions. If you are re-doing the entire room then we need to see all of it and get a floorplan to best help you.

If you mean nothing on the wall is staying then here is an idea for it. Keep the mirror. It’s really that the space between it and the cabinet below it are not close enough, so try adding a taller cabinet and plants to help bridge that space. If you open both French doors then you may not be able to do a bigger cabinet.

Add a rug underneath the sectional with a lamp and accessories on table. (I know you have toddlers so you may not want to add the lamp or anything just yet.) Adding shelves above the kids storage unit helps “finish” that area too.
