I purchased linen curtains. Not lemon curtains. And I am open to constructive criticism, but mainly seeking design advice on how to maximize the potential of this room.

I don't think the art you selected is the best color/style for your room.

If you are going to place drapery panels on the windows don't skimp. Dress them entirely two panels per window. Otherwise it looks like you are to cheap to dress them properly and do all the windows/slider. Axe the floor lamp. Its doing nothing for the space. Your end tables are too low and small. The height of an end table should be level with the sofa arm or slightly below. Once you have the right size position them on the sides of the sofa not moved forward then get a pair of great lamps. The rug is doing nothing for the space. You don't need a lot of color or pattern but you need some so it doesnt fall flat. The same goes for pillows. Neutral is fine but you need to create some depth. You also need to move your cocktail table out more so it is more centrally spaced in the room and not shoved back against the sofa. Whoever is sitting here must have extremely small feet

on the other side I would bring in some warmth behind the TV with some wood. The rubber idea sounds like a waste. Also two vases of branches are redundent. Replace one wth something else. An alabaster or marble lamp for ambient lighting on that side of the room.

Are you suggesting that the table be moved out of reach of those sitting on the sofa?

First of all note that the cocktail table can't be reached by the far chair. It doesn't just serve the sofa. A cocktail table should be 14-18" away from a sofa or chair. If you have the space 20"

+. They have the space and in a seating arrangement like this in an L formation the cocktail table would be centered on the seating arrangement vs shoved closer to the sofa.

IMO a rubber mat on the wall will look awful not at all s good plan. I really dislike drapery panels that are hung for decor and could not possibly close and cover the windows. You need more lighting since no matter where you are it still gets dark at night. If the cocktail table can be reached from the sofa it is fine , take that small endtable by the door and move it between the 2 chairs and move the rug foward to make that fit.. IMO the idea form Design is all wrong no one can reach the table .As for the art I have never bought art to "go with" my room but I also buy original art I love .Looks like a nice space but I do agree some color and texture would improve it. I like the TV set up from AI but not the dried dead twigs
