Don't know about ants but rats do. They chewed through the plastic carton to get to them in my tool chest.

I watched the ants devoer it. Bigger ants carried it away and smaller bit of small pieces. All gone in hours.

Ants (and rats) are probably attracted to sluggo's inert ingredients :

"The primary inert ingredients in Sluggo are wheat gluten, flour, and sugar, which serve as bait attractants for slugs and snails."

IDK if it was mice or birds, but something chewed up the top of my Sluggo container in the barn.

Maybe that's why Sluggo doesn't work at all for me, the ants are carrying it away before the slugs have a chance to eat any! (I do have several colonies of very aggressive ants, so it tracks).

Sluggo does help me a lot, but man I never paid attention to the ants. Trying to get rid of ants to help out. I was shocked at how qickly they ate it. Carried it off and bit of pieces. I only assume that as soon as nearby sluggo is gone they expand and find more.

Mice will chew through the carton.

Check your sluggo a couple hours after putting it down. Look for ants around, for me they found it immediatly.

Don you may need to place some Terro any bait/killer next to your Sluggo.
