Clumps, individuals, one to register at last

Christopher Russell x Orange Velvet 2. This has amazed me. Every year more buds. This year, the 3rd year I think, It has 26+ buds, 7 way branching. The one beside it should be the same.

Carmen Renee x Tune the Harp. Not many buds but new.

Chance Encounter x Egyptian Ibis 2.

Chance Encounter x Full Grown 4. See below

This one is doing amazingly well, and I've decided it will be my first registration.

It is Fully Grown x Chance Encounter. Unlike CE, it is open fully when I get out in the morning. I have 4 scapes, 15-20 buds each, about 25" tall. Good substance, perfect blooms. This is the fourth year and it has done better every year.

[It has more buds than its 4 siblings and maybe more plants; I may also register #4 above-waiting to see how many scapes it has].

Spirit of the Dove x Sky over Schuller clump [from seeds from Celeste] is doing wonderfully well. Probably that NH soil it came from! It would probably be purple in NH!

That's all for now.

Personal failing of mine I'm sure, but I never can keep seedling x seedling information straight in my brain when it comes to remembering what I like. Just ask Debra. That's to say forgive me if I don't remember which one I like until you give it a registration name......As for this group, I like number 4 picture (Chance Encounter x full grown 4) and the one below it. I believe that's the one you are going to register. I think both are beautiful and will wait to hear the fun part for you - the name.............Maryl

Ditto on what Maryl said!! It will be interesting to watch the progression of the Carmen Renee seedling. The colors are lovely. I have plants from seeds of that same cross that Celeste sent to me. They are indeed all purple!!

Good to see that your future registration inherited the substance of Chance E. Is Chance E not passing on the late opening with other seedlings?

Chance Enounter X Full Grown 4 is the color I prefer. But the one you want to register is really nice too and has good stats. I hope it continues to multiply well for you! That Christopher Russell seedling has amazing stats - any thoughts on registering that one?

Mantis, no Chance E. has not passed on the late opening. My Chance Encounter x Egyptian Ibis that I really like as well is also open when I go out. Actually Chance E. itself only doesn't open well for the first week or so [more this year due to cool nights] then opens fine. Right now it is mostly open when I go out.

Debra, if CR continues as it is, I will consider registering it. I am also looking to possibly registering my Carmen Renee x Vt the Last Melon. Only one started blooming today, the rest will be soon. I'm looking at scapes with multiple branches and 20 or more buds on many scapes on most of the varieties. I split them last fall and it seems to have accelerated things.

I too really like the Chance 4, hoping it will do better.

Nice group Brad. Best wishes on your pick for registration. 4 years should give you a good idea of its ability through various spring, summer, fall and of course the most important "winter".
