Why black? Sometimes when you drive by houses with black doors it just looks like a black hole and you have to look twice to see if the door is open or closed!

You can’t go wrong with your style of home choosing a black door and shutters. The palladium window is a strong feature and the eye goes there, so the intensity of black will bring the attention to the entrance.

I think the sidelights would be better white or at least broken up so it doesn’t feel as heavy.

Your paint color is similar to below; hope it helps. Shutters’ style is important as well and look to complement door‘s style.

You could paint your existing door a solid black. No outlining with white paint. It will look like a new door.

I love the deep red door and black shutters. Not fire-engine red but a darker one like @marhop posted. My 1925 house was that combination and it looks great on colonials.
I like the solid door when there are sidelights.
