Please ignore me in the reflection of the mirror! Thank you all for your help. I totally agree about the undertones.. They are driving me crazy. The consensus is the bottom three are the best. Those are the ones that I was looking to as well. The middle one on the bottom universal khaki by Sherwin-Williams. The one on the left bottom is shiitake and the one on the right bottom is loggia. I do like universal khaki, but I wonder if it’s too dark as well. Do you think I’m in the right color family in general? I’ll add a couple of more pics for the rest of the room. I’m sorry if there are any typos I’m on my phone. It’s hard to make a comment and go back and edit it.

Consider Drift of Mist....the undertones are flexibile enough to accomodate different room light orientations. You might enjoy this blog as there are photos of different rooms/different lighting. I think heatherednest did a great job here.

I actually have read that one and really liked it. I took some colors from that blog and tried them out. I started out with colors that were much lighter than the ones currently on my wall. I didn’t try drift of mist, but I tried many other ones that were recommended. The one that looked the best was Grecian Ivory. I was going for a light airy feel and I wasn’t sure if that was the direction I should even go. So then I switched over to trying cozy colors. I’m totally undecided.

I painted a swatch of the middle one that everyone seem to like.

I painted a swatch of one shade lighter on the same paint strip than the middle color on the bottom that we all liked. The other picture was 9 AM in the morning with only sunlight.. this picture is 6 PM with evening light with Windows facing east as well as overhead lights on.

I dont like the painted swatch. It looks a bit dark and dreary to me. Have you thought about just painting the walls alabaster like the trim, only in an eggshell finish. It would brighten everything up a lot.

I like the current wall color. Have you thought of changing the trim color instead? it looks stark white in the photos and maybe that’s what is not giving the coziness you seek. Try painting the trim half or 3/4 formula of carrington beige in pearl or satin sheen. if it’s too light maybe full formula in a satin sheen

Jennifer Hogan, I didn’t really care for me and her. I think it looked a little muddy in my room. It’s probably the lighting.. I have a decorator coming on Monday. Hopefully she’ll help me find something.
