I would start by center the rug on the front door.

Why upholstered furniture in your entry? Reason? There are A LOT of mirrored surfaces ( walls, furniture ) & no color other than gray, black & white. Looks like a negative of a photograph.

I mean, I would sit in there and wait for the rest of my family to get ready to leave haha.

Or if I was waiting on an uber.

Is there another living/seating area? IDK maybe creat an art gallery in there?

How lovely to have such a space! It does look a bit full/cluttered currently. This could be a lovely entry way--- a la the 18th century-style of Mount Vernon, or even the 20th century Hillwood House of MM Post that has a gorgeous black and white marble entry. These halls usually have a lot of symmetry and were designed to impress guests as they wait for the host or to be used as flex space for dancing and entertaining.

Why not aim for symmetry, keep it simple---maybe have just a long, shallow sofa/settee, and add a few soft furnishings in a third color? Maybe go for a more classically designed mirror?

it's really a dramatic space. I would paint the walls a dark color to compliment the furniture, the contrast with the floor would be beautiful and cozy up the large space for conversation.

With the moldings and the mirrored pieces the dark walls would create a grand entrance.

I would consider changing out the furniture to 4 chairs around a round coffee table to make it feel more "loungy" rather than feeling like a living room.

Color: it’s hard to suggest as you reference light colors…but how (walls/rug/replacing or upholstering the seating)?

Design/functionality: Could you just use the guest sitting area if large enough and if so, the foyer could feel less like a living room. I like the combo below if you were planning on an entire update; either area could then be used based on number of people.
