Though the lanterns are lovely, the glass that will fog from dust, cooking, general living would drive me crazy. I want a fixture I am not a slave to. Maybe something in an antique brass/bronze.

I’d go with the simpler fixture here. You already have several lighting elements in the kitchen, plus a very strong marble pattern on the island, so another statement fixture could start competing with the room rather than completing it.

I’d keep the shape clean, but make sure it relates to the existing pendants through either finish or geometry. Lighting can completely change how a room reads even when nothing else changes — I recently explored exactly that idea using 8 different designer pendant approaches:
