You can do much better than that. You need something that brings out the warmth and beauty of the wood. Your two choices fall flat. No grey.

Have you looked at other natural stones besides marble? There are a lot of granites to choose from; in fact, many are less expensive than quartz. There's also soapstone, but I'm not sure about general prices.

There is also good ol' Corian -- that stuff has stood the test of time and there's all sorts of colors and patterns to choose from.

I like the costa nova, with the white floor it will brighten up the space.

I too would stay away from anything gray.

if the flooring is the large format tile, that would be fabulous, modern. I'd change the pendant light fixtures to something a bit more dramatic.

I deleted my comment, because I see you are changing the floor. Or at least I think you are changing the floor to a large format white tile.

So as I said, the one on the left in this picture would be better of two choices.

But if you want something much more elegant and classic, look at polished River White granite; it would be beautiful with your Cherry cabs.

Alternatively, if you just want a marble look - look at Formica Calacatta Cava. It is a much more realistic marble look than anything you will find in a quartz.

There are many real stone slabs that do not cost more than quartz and for sure always a better choice . IMO the floor should match what is next to the space maybe no dark part but at least the same wood. I am puzzled about the choice of keeping dated cabinets and also a tile floor next to what looks like a nice wood floor.You going to big expense and kind of does not make sense to me at all. I agree maple stained to sort of look like cherry but dated for sure . BTW neithr of those counter choices work with the cabinets or the white tile floor which will be adding another white to this mix.

The OP’s cabinets are high quality. Not in the same category as the garbage that is being manufactured today.
