you actually have a really nice space to work with! I agree that the gray tones are making it feel a little cooler than you’d like. Since you prefer natural wood, stone, and warm gold tones, I’d go with a warm white or creamy off-white rather than a bright, cool white. If you want to keep the cozy feel of the blue, a deeper navy or muted blue-green could look really beautiful too.

I love your ideas of adding molding, sconces, some greenery, a coffee table, and new stools. Those changes would add a lot of warmth and character and help tie the living room and kitchen together. I think with the right finishes and a few well-chosen pieces, this space could look amazing without needing a major renovation.

Add moulding where? I wouldn’t add the ”picture moulding” , your room & furniture, leans too casual for something more formal like that.

The first thing that jumped out for me is the color of the sectional. It is so dark that it's jarring in comparison to the rest of the room.

Get rid of the blue and gray wall colors. The colors don't relate to anything in the space, those walls do not need to be accented and it just chops up the space.

You're on the right track wanting to move away from gray — gray reads cool and a little sterile, and it's fighting against the warm, cozy direction (wood, gold, stone) you actually like. A few thoughts:

Don't go stark white either. If you keep the blue (which I'd actually lean toward keeping — it's giving you the coziness you mentioned liking), pair it with a warm white trim rather than a cool/bright white. Something like an off-white or warm greige on trim and molding will bridge the blue and your gold/wood tones instead of making the blue feel colder by contrast.

If you do want to change the wall, look at a warm, muted blue-green or a soft clay/terracotta instead of jumping to neutral. Straight white or gray walls will strip out the coziness you already said you like — you don't need to abandon color, you need to warm up what's around the color.

Gold sconces + brass hardware will do more work than you'd think. Since you're not a gray person, swapping any cool-toned metal (chrome, brushed nickel) for warm brass or aged gold immediately shifts the whole room's temperature without touching a single wall.

For the coffee table and stools, go solid wood or a mixed wood-and-stone material rather than glass or metal-only pieces — that's what will actually deliver the "naturals, wood, gold, stone" feeling you're describing, since paint alone can only do so much.

Since you’re already thinking about changing the lighting, I’d actually consider replacing the ceiling fan with one statement pendant light. A pendant inspired by the moon’s surface could look really beautiful here — its warm tones would work especially well with the blue accent wall, the colors in your artwork and the rug. It could become a really interesting focal point and make the whole space feel warmer and more finished.

I quickly skimmed through comments, and I saw mention of the ceiling. I don’t know if you had/have any interest in altering the ceiling. You may or may not know - removing a popcorn ceiling is an extremely messy and potentially hazardous job. There is no way that I would scrape a popcorn ceiling. If I didn’t want it, I would cover it with drywall. I am not particularly adverse to textured ceilings, though, so I would probably leave it.

You may live in a climate where a ceiling fan is really helpful and/or necessary. Or, you may just like having the fan. You could do a search for “fandeliers” - if you are interested in a fan that has more of a light fixture look.

I don’t think the architecture, plus tile floor, etc,, really lends itself to wall moldings.

Also, I do not know if the blue accent wall does much for the space; although, I do like the idea of a color on that wall.

In this one, I tried a yellow gold. AI insisted on extending the color to adjacent wall. I requested Farrow & Ball’s Cat’s Paw - and I think the color appears close to that.

I did not mean to replace your art, btw. I was trying to lower your art and AI removed it; so I put something else on the wall.

I think a yellow/gold on the accent wall could be nice, as I mentioned above. Could be striking.
