All the purging and packing finally got done, movers loaded on Wednesday and unloaded on Thursday. What a relief - no more pressure or deadlines. Kind of a chaotic mess after they were done on Thursday morning but I got a lot of things organized that day. Since we've been living here there was no urgency to get a bedroom, kitchen or bathroom functional because they already were. All the living area furnishings were switched about so I did have to get the main level and walkout level living areas set up along with the office/library in the loft. That wasn't too bad because it didn't require much unpacking - just moving furniture and rugs around. Today was lamp day - mostly finding the shades and bulbs and deciding what I wanted where. Tomorrow is garage day - a lot of stuff was unloaded in there and we need to get that organized so we can get both cars in there again.

I have a lot of kitchen stuff and my kitchen cabinets are full so that is going to be a lot of work getting rid of the interim items and figuring out where to put everything. I don't have nearly as much kitchen storage space here. I will probably leave most of that until spring as we're only here for two more weeks.

I think I've been planning for this for about a year - what to keep, what to get rid of, what to put in each room. Multiple spreadsheets - my tool of choice for lists. Some things fit just as I had envisioned, some things didn't fit as I expected and some turned out better than expected. One of our guest rooms is full of artwork. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all of that. Our lower level has a lot of open wall space and I think I'll make it the "gallery". I just need one of you to come visit me in the spring and help me figure out where to hang everything.

One of the good things about having a lot of storage space is you can keep your moving boxes for the next move along with every big A'zon and Chewy box. I didn't have to buy a single moving box - just fresh packing paper.
