What is the type of Wood and stain color used in the Island countertop? Is it salvaged or purchased from a manufacturer? It is beautiful.

    Hello- the island is walnut with a clear finish. Not meant for cutting / butcher block use...

      I agree the island is gorgeous. The entire space is amazing. Great job! The island is just what I was looking for and the exposed brick is the design my husband and I are going for. Where did you get the brick?

      Thanks for the kind words. The brick was re-used from the rear wall of the house where we put larger windows / doors.

      Hi, I too love the island. Re: the walnut top-did you have it made and if so, from what (salvaged boards?)? Or was it made from new planks that were joined together? Thanks for any tips you can provide.

      I believe they were all new 7/4 thick (not positive about that) boards joined together.
