I believe we used Benjamin Moore Pale Sea Mist 2147-50

We have an open floor plan. There is screened in porch with makes the room dark, and it is NW exposure. My furniture is choclate brown. We would like to brighten up the room. Would Pale Sea Mist be our answer? What color would you paint the bookcases? This room opens to an eat in kitchen and the kitchen which has maple cabinets. any paint colors you can suggest would be great.

Pale Sea Mist would definitely brighten the space and work with the furniture pieces you have. Are the cabinet backs a wood stain? The cabinets would pop if the backs were white also. You can bring in color with accessorizing the bookcases. A colorful art piece above the mantle. Punches of chartruse-yellow/green for pilows, even a throw blanket. A coffee table or cocktail ottoman would make the space cozy. Rugs could be added for color too. Good luck with your project.

Hi, the cabinet backs are painted. The owner prior to us did that. Would you do Pale sea mist above and below the chair rail? This space is open to the sairway updstairs. Would you continue it up the stairway? What shape should the coffee table be?

Without seeing the space, I don't know if you have walls/corners where the paint can stop and a different color can begin. The chair rail in the pic is shown on 1 wall. Is there only 1 wall with this? Is it just a chair rail without any raised trim pieces below?
A rectangular table or two small bunching tables could work. Without seeing the space, I can't give you a size. I would paint the back of the bookcases the same color of white as the exterior and fireplace. Hope this helps.

Thank you. THe chair rail is only on 1 wall. It has no raised trim panels. THe stairs are behind the couch and they are open from the living room. The wall/corner is separate but can be seen from the dining room and living room I guess I will try Ben Moore Pale Sea Mist if you do not have another paint color suggestion. I appreciate all of the advice. I can't wait to paint it!

If it isn't too difficult, an option then is to just remove the chair rail,since it is only on one wall. Dark linen 2147-60 is a slightly lighter version of this, which works well with browns, maple wood, and grays.
