Low ceiling in basement

Hello! We are about to finish our basement. I'm disappointed b/c the height of the ceiling is only 8 feet (7.5 feet in a small area). I am looking for ideas on how to make the basement appear taller. It's pretty big space, about 1000 sqr ft. My concern is low ceiling. Would love suggestions. Thanks!!

Wether you are doing drywall or suspended ceilings - make sure to keep them white. If you are doing suspended ceiling tiles, go with the upgraded panels. This little bit of extra cost will give your basement ceilings a more solid and refined feeling - not a basement vibe.

Do you have a lot of plumbing and ducts if there's not many font cover the ceiling incorporate it by painting everything white

Mirror, gloss paint or painting it the same or a lighter colour of the walls, which should not be a dark colour. All these will help give an optical illusion of a higher ceiling
