Personally, I think it needs more natural light, especially toward the rear.

I don't know what I can do about natural light. I think I meant more about furniture, wall decor, etc

I would remove the two vases with flowers on the floor and replace them with two identical benches (on each side of the doorway) with a light colored fabric maybe in a steel blue color to coordinate with your lovely wall color. Something like this only with light colored fabric.

Remove the small vases on the opposite wall. I would place two really large floor vases in the center of each side wall. Or ... two very large urns with ferns.

Maybe add a long rug with your colors to ground the space and warm it up.

I agree with janeinfo. Take out the two floor vases. Put a bench on each side of doorway. I would also remove the candle shelves on each side and replace with some coordinating art work;)

Thank you all, so I guess it's unanimous: remove the 2 vase. Either 2 identical benches or the two large urns. Any examples, pics? AND so where are those vases suited for?!

And the wall with the console & the mirror is big, tall & empty. Is that okay? Do I need any furniture or anything else for the that wall/side? Pics?

I thought I would weigh in, because I know from experience that it helps to have lots of opinions from lots of different people! I think you have a beautiful hallway, and I think there's a lot of potential in the space. The hallway is such an unusual shape, and so I am not sure if a runner would look good in the space - besides, you have a beautiful floor!

I do agree with several other users that the space would look better if you removed the two vases and the candle shelves. I think some artwork where the candles are now would be a great idea.

I don't think you need to move the console table or mirror, but I do like the idea of adding two chairs to either side of the console table. I think that will give you the definition you're looking for.

I tried to find some inspirational pictures - hope these help! I think the thing I notice about these pictures is that they've used light paint colors or lots of overhead lighting to brighten the space, and kept the accents (decor, art, furniture) limited.

Hi....A few more ideas, instead of benches I think banquettes would work side by side with a
small table on the wall with the console and mirror. The console and mirror I would move across the hall next to the stairs, with a large bowl and orchids. I wouldn't do a rug, the floor
is lovely. The round shelf should have a sculpture, possibly a horse. Over the banquettes
art.

I suggested on the console table side of the entry, Maybe a dramatic upholstered chair on each side to help fill the space
