My counter depth side by side does not have enough room to store the food. I hope yours does. Kitchenaid is made by Whirlpool. That's all I know.

We like our Kitchenaid dishwasher. It's very quiet. (I think that is one of the appliances that brand is known for).

Both my kitchen counter depth French door and dishwasher started having problems at 7 year mark. Temp control panel out on frig and dishwasher latch no good. Great up until now. Maybe the norm now... No more 15 year appliances like the old days. :(

We are now considering the counter depth side by side refrigerator. Any feedback about French door vs side by side?

Having recently shopped for appliance (new build) I'd choose KitchenAid over GE, any day. There's something about the finish on GE products that just looks dull.

I bought a stainless steel LG French door counter depth fridge a couple of years ago. Took a little bit to get used to it not being as deep as a normal fridge, but really love it. Bonus--things don't get "abandoned" in it very often.

I love my french door, counter depth (Maytag). Had side by side (Maytag) prior.

Definitely counter depth french door rather than side by side. French door is much more current looking and you might as well start out current, right? My frig is Samsung. I love my kitchenaid dishwasher - quiet and good looking.

I love the refrigerator portion of a French door style, but I'm concerned about the freezer space. It seems like it would be disorganized and not hold much. Any comments about the freezer space?

I have an LG counter depth French door with the bottom freezer and believe it or not the freezer portion has far more room than my old side by side. The fridge portion not so much but as was said in a previous post, you certainly won't have leftovers lost in the back.

I have a Kitchenaid side by side counter depth. It's excellent, works well for us, however the downside is you can't put a full cookie sheet in--but we knew that when we bought it. If you have done lots of cooking in the past where you need to freeze or cool items on a baking sheet, go French door. I don't like the freezers on French door, but that's just me. Here it is, don't mind the extremely dated cabinets--my kitchen was probably really cool in the 70's! Haha!

If you're wondering why I went Kitchenaid over GE, it was purely cost. We moved in to our new home around black Friday last year and didnt have a huge budget but needed new appliances. The GE cafe range I was looking at was $3000 alone. Between scoring the new, nothing wrong, no dents fridge at Sears outlet for $1300, the stove at a local appliance store for $1400, dishwasher at Best Buy for $650, and micro hood, new in box clearance at sears for $350, well, the GE cafe line would have cost me double!

I did! The fridge made my day! The stove is gas with no frills, conventional oven, storage instead of warming drawer (great for baking sheets!) which was weird since I'm used to the old school broiler on the bottom. The range, same model, was $400 less at a local place vs sears. I was shocked and whipped out the credit card instantly! You never know!

I miss my side by side! I have a thing about opening more doors than I need to and nothing is ever where I left it. Things get lost in the freezer and in mine, even though it has separation areas, things get stacked on top of each other.
