TRANSFORMING SMALL MASTER BATH INTO A "TRUE" MASTER BATH

I thought it would be fun to share before and afters of what was once a very small master bath with toilet in the middle of the room to a contemporary master bath with large walk-in shower, free-standing tub, private watercloset alcove and wall hung double vanity. The walls at the vanity are Porcelanosa "Cubica Blanco" and the wall on the shower side is Porcelanosa "Glass Acido". Door is etched glass on stainless steel barn door hardware.

      Sconces are from World Wide Lighting (great stuff) and the textured wall tile is Porcelanosa "Cubica Blanco"

      Fortunately I was able to extend the room approximately 3 feet. The former exterior wall location is visible where the ceiling beam runs parallel to the vanity.

      Thank you! Yes, the door to the outside is the direction I went to gain more space. I connected house to utility/laundry (originally accessed from outside) with a new hall that also provides access to outside from master bath. It is the door beyond the shower.

      Before and after floor plans per in.situ.design's request. Jennifer, the tub is the 68" Treece Acrylic freestanding tub from Signature Hardware. Sharon, it is a mid-century home in Palm Desert, CA.

      I haven't had the opportunity to specify Porcelanosa showers, they have some great looking shower columns. The rain shower head in the bathroom pictured is the Kohler K-8030 recessed in ceiling. I have had good luck minimizing controls when I specify Kohler. I have also recently specified Brizo Siderna (very contemporary) and also used Grohe with good results. I agree, minimal knobs and converters whenever possible.

      Just WOW! I can understand the clients want of a touch of "bling" and boy did they get it! The before is horrendous, they must live in this new master bath :) I would! Excellent job!
