Thanks Holly. I had someone suggest those to me. I have a love for plantation shutters but they thought the silouhette's would be a better fit. Would love to know what you think? Both rooms are at the front of the home so I would like them to be similar in style whatever I go with. My concerns about the silouhettes are they seem so delicate and I was worried about them holding up, getting dirty and or damaged. I have a 3.5 yr old boy who loves to look out the window to see when daddy goes to work and comes home. I know the shutters would probably hold up better but worried they may be too heavy for these rooms. Sorry for rambling. Any advice you have to offer would be greatly appreciated!

Kim, I really think the silhouettes would keep things nice and light. As long as you keep them up when your son is looking out they should hold up well. You can also tip them so you can see out similar to a blind. You could also add drapery panels o these and keep the light look if you care to at any time. They should be able to match them to your trim.
