I would use wall mounted swivel lamps on each side of the bed. They allow you to curl up in bed with a good book and have convenient lighting that swivels to where you are to help you read in comfort.
I would add night stands that are tall enough for you to easily reach from the bed without having to reach down low. If they have drawers, you will have more storage close to your bed. Upholstered end tables would fit nicely and add a new level of comfort to your retreat.
I don't know how much room you have in the rest of the room for adding a chaise to the room but it would be nice to have an extra seating area in the room.
What about a compact fridge to keep cold drinks handy?

Mirrored pieces, as dcostboy mentioned, would look well with your bed. Consider a 3 panel drapery treatment with thick, dark rods, hung high, as well as an upholstered bench, pillows and throw for the end of the bed. A narrow console below the TV can hold decorative bits.

Yes, I was thinking of a chase...another dilemma...what color? I want something not too big yet very comfortable with an option of putting our feet up.
I love the warmth of the Hollywood residence but don't think I'd be able to put everything together.

Really like the ivory night stands but thinking round might be a better/softer option.

my first thought was mirrored pieces. I still think they would work a nice eclectic mix, just keep everything else traditional. I think the actual style would dictate more than the mirroring and with your mention of Hollywood? Perfect. The three panel window treatment sounds awesome, I would add contrasting roman or wood shades on the windows for privacy and to add to the coziness. As for lighting the swivel lamps or hanging pendants would both work. The lamps you have are too small as previously noted, and the swivel or pendant would allow for height adjustment. Use draperies and toss pillows for color and on that little outset in the wall to the left of the bed? Ceiling to floor décor, metal or wood sculpture pieces alternated with pictures in a scale to fill the space almost side to side and top to bottom. Have fun.

Hi Snapd. Two very small suggestions. I think you would get more out of those charming pictures if you framed them and separated them, as below. Also, is that large cabinet the TV stands on a safe of some sort? It looks rather institutional, and if you can't replace it perhaps you could paint it a soft colour? It looks like an enamel finish but there probably is a way to paint enamel with the correct primer. A prettier door handle would be good, too, but may not be possible if it is a safe.

A budget hasn't been mentioned, so I will suggest looking at Hayneedle to start. They . have two lighter round nightstands that would look well w your bed, and eachother. There are also chaises to compare, and consoles.
