We moved in to our brand new home last March and I generally love my new house. However, I made one huge design mistake - my entire main floor has dark birch plank hardwood floors. Yes - they are beautiful to look at but with two dogs and kids I find myself vacuuming and cleaning them every day (sometimes twice a day). I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with sanding down the wide plans (with small dips between each plank) - I'd like to lighten them up in order to lighten my own workload... Advice?
