sure its ok! we have remodelled a few houses and done the wood work one room at a time until eventually the whole house was done. I just stopped it just inside the door jam on the bedroom side. you cant see it from the hallway and , if you thibk of it....houses dont have the same flooring in every room so a change in the door jam is fine. And ours was a dramatic contrast...black walnut wood to creamy white. nobody noticed and furthermore, nobody cared! I think we (i mean myself and spouse and maybe other DIY;ers) get caught up in doing the right thing and really go overboard sweating the smallist of choices and drive ourselves crazy. It will look just fine.Paint the basebrds the same as the wall except in a satin and theyèll blend right in.
