A sliding door that... bends?

Is there such a thing as a sliding door of sorts that can run on a curved track? Like, when slid shut, it's straight, but when open, it's curved? I ask because I have such little space in my bedroom that I was thinking of removing the closet door entirely and opting for a sliding door, but not a folding door. I just imagined something moderately pliable (like a thin sheet of plexi) would be feasible to put on a track, but I have yet to see pictures of this sort of idea.

I say curved because there is literally almost no where for the door to slide to unless it hugs the wall and rounds the corner, be it inside the closet (which isn't ideal) or outside (in the bedroom proper).

I know this is 6 years late but for anyone else who might come across this, I believe this fits the description. This is a UK product for camper vans, though I'm sure it could work as a room door, as its size is customizable. A brief search of 'tambour door' or 'tambour shower door' didn't yield US results though.

I'm trying to stay away from folding doors, as I really don't have the room for those, either. That style does look much nicer than what I'm used to seeing, though.

Orb Orb! just seeing this for the first time today when I searched for ”Tambour door!” I’m in New Jersey, USA! I just wanted you to know that you have successfully carried this excellent solution to a crummy problem across an ocean and I was fortunate enough to actually be able to see whats in my mind.

I’m facing the same problem as haldenlith and currently am just trying to get away from old bifold doors that I only put up because living room is on the second floor in a Cape Cod style house. The air conditioning and heating leave something to be desired up here, so enclosing the living room seemed to be the easiest solution.

At this moment, I’m thinking of building a tambour door, but I want a window (or at least to oet some light through.… not trying to make it a cave.)

Anyway, amazing idea and thank you for bringing it to our doorstep. I dont know if they exist here yet as this was the first result from my search and i was just too excited and had to respond to this post immediately.

Can someone post a link for where to buy this door? It would be perfect for our kitchen pantry as it is tucked in the corner between the refrigerator and the pantry.
