What is the brand of paint?

Would the ceiling paint treatment work on a very light "old world texture" ceiling? Or does this require a perfectly smooth surface to achieve the shimmery effect?

You can try a section. Modern Masters sells sample sizes. I suppose it's a matter of opinion. Mine is that metallics look best on smooth surfaces.

Can I ask the paiting processes with these specialist paints? I'd you thin them? Sand between coats? For the wash, was this thinned then sanded too?

Paul there was no sanding. The gold was applied with a roller and a brush. Once dry I mixed the silver with an acrylic glaze so the gold would show through. The silver glaze was applied by hand using saran wrap.

Allison - I hope you will indulge me by answering another question. Using the saran wrap technique, was a subtractive technique used where the wrap was smoothed out on ceiling leaving wrinkles, etc or was the saran wrap scrunched up and pounced on the surface. Thanks!

William I sort of added and subtracted as needed to move the paint around on the surface until it was evenly applied!
