This is perfect for a more traditional style of house or cottage, but perhaps not universally appropriate. I think a modern or contemporary style house needs a kitchen more in unison with the modern, minimalist lines of its structure.

For me I would prefer chrome handles, but a darker floor and or darker area rug and table and change the light from white to something that contrasts against all the white. It truly is beautiful, just a few tweaks.

We've had tons of clients love the classic white cabinets but want something with a bit of warmth, we tend to incorporate rich, darker stains into the flooring or bottom cabinets to give the illusion of a white, open kitchen but also keep a dimensional, inviting feel.

It's beautiful, although I'd add darker floors and a different light fixture.

I think you're right that this kitchen can mix with more modern or contemporary furnishings (with some tweaking - I would remove the plate rack and change the hanging pulls if my style were more modern, different rug and accessories), but like feeny mentioned if the actual architecture of the home were modern or contemporary I don't think it would fit. I am one who likes a modern kitchen in a traditional home but not as much the other way around.

I agree with the above comments. I think it lacks contrast and warmth.

I would stain those nice herringbone wood floors a medium brown color. Replace the chandelier with an oil rubbed bronze version to help tie in the cabinet hardware. Swap out the table with a darker wood top table to tie in the darker hardwood floors.

Maybe jazz up the backsplash a bit.

White is always classic, but I do not care for the rug, cutsie spice shelves, or cutsie canisters. I think with more updated accessories, it will have a more forward feel. The current pulls have a great traditional or farmhouse feel. Changing them up would give a more modern bent.

I've seen ceramic fruit in white.

The kitchen cabinets totally work for me.

What I miss is some contrast.
I would go with a dark backsplash to add some interest. Out of personal preference I'd go with a dark counter top in white kitchens as a general rule in my book. ;)

And I'd install another light fixture - again something with at least part dark colors for interest and contrast.

Different strokes for different folks! Personally I prefer cabinets to go to the ceiling, or at least be the same height as the window, and feel the black handles are rather old-fashioned. Stainless steel handles aren't as in your face.
However, it's interesting to see ideas from other countries, and making the client happy is what it's all about.

Agree with chookchook. Need a contrast with the fixture. Table doesn't fit. Too much white.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with classics. I could still see this kitchen 20 years from now and it would still look as good as it did the first day. Also, classic kitchens aren't too hard to update. Appliances and wall color are easy fixes that can be used to update a classic white kitchen.
