Dog definitely stays where he is! You have too many things and not enough space to put them on. Either group them by a) colour b) shape c) theme and then winnow. You need some table lamps - or what do you have when you get into and out of bed for reading and general lighting. You either need to add some type of shelving or make use of your side tables to display objects, but rather than fill the space with "stuff" decide what really matters first and then build on that.

I like your headboard and love your doggie, looks sooo comfy! One thing I would do with those nice tables on either side of bed is find a pair of buffet lamps for them. You need more height on the tables but not thickness. Do you have a clue as to where you want to hang your artwork? Also, can you find other places for the glasses, etc. like your kitchen? Also don't know about your "bedroom blahs part un" if there was one. Also, move tables a bit closer to bed. :)

I think part of the problem is that there are too many objects competing for space on one surface. For example, your side table has at least 4-5 objects just on the top of it.

I agree with ASV -- you need larger decorative lamps on each side table. Something simple, perhaps with a pop of color. Because the side tables are so small, limit the top of the table to maybe one more object plus the lamp, and then stop. The lower shelves would be good an attractive stack of books.

A curio cabinet or shelving would make a good place to display the remainder of your gifts and heirlooms without cluttering the small spaces too much. Alternatively, move some of the trinkets to other areas of the house to de-clutter.

Think "large to small". So, take care of the largest items first. Smallest last.

So, here is what I would do:

1)Switch side tables. They need to be closer to the bed and pedestal one will work on left side, clearing the nightlight.

2) Get lamps for your side stands

3) Do you have bedding?

4) Drapes: do you have or can you buy more substantial drapes? If not , we will work with what you have.

5) Hang mirror on the wall that it is on (remove from stand and hang on wall)

6) Above bed you would use something long and horizontal.

I don't see a place for any of your decor items, as there is no space to put them ( side stands would be too crowded)

Art: I cannot see it-----can you spread it out and take pictures. It is sitting on top of each other.

robea, I think you could make an interesting arrangement with the three darker framed pics and the two crosses. I would arrange them in different configurations upon your bed, maybe take pics of each arrangement and see which one pleases you the most. Do rough measurements as well to see which wall they would look good on.

Small green shelf, I don't know. It is so cute. Do you have something tiny to put on it? Other art can hang by themselves.

I agree with unwanted. You could add to the three the gold-framed art, if you are willing to pain the frame a dark color. You may be able to hang them over your bed.

The blue art has such different coloring and no frame, so isn't fitting in.

Is the green piece a holy water font by chance? If so, I would like to see the crosses paired with it. Maybe the large cross on the right side of the bed and and the smaller on one the left side with the font.

Ok so I think I might paint the space? so any color ideas.. I do have some bedding ideas as well ill post eventually

Put things in groups or collections, with space in between.

Hi. I looked at your idea book on bedrooms and it seems that you trend toward neutral colors. I think that will serve you well, especially since your room in not large. Those are really nice rooms in your idea book!

One thing you should keep in mind is that it that there are so many choice in paint, including custom matches. So, you mentioned bedding. Are you buying or using existing? It would be easier to choose your bedding first, then decide paint.

Bedding----bedding has become more and more minimalist over the past few years. I happen to love that.

Having said all that, I love the paint in one of the bedrooms in your idea book. It is very light. Gray Mist, Benjamin Moore (left)

You really don't had to spend anything on bedding. Do you have a white comforter now? Just use that. Seriously. Then take a taupe throw or throw with a pop of color and lay it across the end of the bed.

It is all about neat and clean now. No parade of pillows. Less is more.

i have a down comforter thats white..but no solid duvet. i have light cream sheets and light grey sheets..in solids and i have several blankets others have made me and some down throws in wild colors. not solid but that would work! thank you

Yep. That would work. I think the grey sheets or light cream sheets would add some interest.

1st Merry Christmas its taken me a long time to get around to rehanging my things so here is first shot at it...what do you think so far?big cross left side of window/smaller cross right side of window?

I think they look really good. But, I would hang them below the top of the window. Hang their centers about 54-60" off the floor.
